International Jazz Festival Dr. Emil Iliev

For a second consecutive year, between August 4th and 9th, Borovets will host the International Jazz Festival "Dr. Emil Iliev". The 26th edition of the festival will take place in front of the Rila Hotel.
Nowadays, the festival is a symbol of jazz music in Bulgaria and a beloved event for many Bulgarian and foreign stars and tourists.

The organisers, led by Dr. Tatiana Ilieva, have prepared a diverse program with the participation of numerous artists from Bulgaria and abroad, whose virtuoso performances you will have the chance to enjoy during the cool August evenings in the heart of Borovets.

Due to high interest, this year the festival will be spread over 6 days filled with performances by Bulgarian and international bands, such as: “Blagoevgrad Big Band” with Jacqueline Tarakchieva (winner of "The Voice of Bulgaria" in 2022), Vasil Petrov, “VSOP”, the rock quartet "Kalibarti", "Dirty Perchis," "Zone C," the Vladigerov Brothers”, jazz quartet „Wasserfuhr Brothers”, “The Jive Aces”, “The 4th Element”, “Jazzanitsa", Roberto Fonseca, Tanya Doncheva, Matt Bianco.

After the concerts, the celebration will continue with jam sessions at the "After Eleven" Night Club in the Rila Hotel, with free access for all the jazz enthusiasts.

The festival will have a special guest this year on August 5th - the writer Georgi Gospodinov, winner of the most prestigious literary award - the international "Booker Prize".
