Hotel Rila is well known for the wide variety of bars and restaurants. In the last few years head-chef of the three restaurants in the hotel (Seasons, Les Arcs and Samokovi) and the famous Champions Lobby Bar & Diner is the renowned Chef Kalev. After gaining experience in Germany in restaurants with 2 Michelin stars and 17 Gault Millau points, he returns to Bulgaria to create his own masterpieces in the a-la-carte restaurant Samokovi.

As per tradition the menu in gourmet restaurant Samokovi includes wide choice of meals, inspired by the trendiest culinary flows and recipes typical for the region of Samokov and Rila mountain. This year in Restaurant Samokovi the guests can try Cold smoked salmon sourced from the nearby village of Gorni Okol, mixed salad with Rila trout, European bass fillet served on a bed of bean from Raduil village and many more.

This winter chef Kalev and Hotel Rila are extending the gourmet experience in Borovets even more. Every Wednesday and Thursday there are special evenings in a-la-carte restaurant Samokovi. On Wednesday many guests from all around the world have the opportunity to enjoy traditional Bulgarian cuisine.  Shepherd’s salad, veal chomlek (veal stew with vegetables – our style) and Bulgarian Yoghurt with walnuts & honey are few of the delicious Bulgarian culinary temptations by chef Kalev. Every Thursday the menu in Samokovi includes special Italian courses.

The gourmet location in Borovets – Restaurant Samokovi welcomes the guests of Hotel Rila with the innovative Premium breakfast. To promote the healthy lifestyle, every morning Rila and Samokovi are serving many healthy options in the gourmet restaurant. Muesli, skimmed milk, fresh fruits and vegetables and daily specials. These healthy options will help the skiers in Hotel Rila to begin their winter adventures in Borovets.

After the big renovation, Champions Lobby Bar & Diner is one of the busiest places in Borovets resort. With its rich menu, the delicious food and the cocktails, the lobby attracts many skiers and snowboarders.   From this year apart from the fresh salads, tasty burgers and hot soups, Champions Lobby Bar & Diner is offering new sweet treats from the Sweet corner, located next to Reception. The pastry chef Gery Shipochka and Chef Kalev are preparing refined desserts – Italian cannoli, red velvet muffins, cakes and many more.
